vivevo is a private journal. What you write in it is yours. This page describes exactly what leaves your device and what does not.

Using vivevo without an account

You can use vivevo without signing in. In this mode everything you record stays on your device only. Nothing is sent to us or to any server, and we have no way to see it. If you uninstall the app without signing in, that data is gone.

What we store when you sign in

Signing in is optional and uses Google Sign-In. If you sign in, Google provides us with your email address, your display name and your profile picture, and the following is stored in your account so it can sync between your devices and be restored if you change phone:

Reminder settings and the times you choose are kept on your device. Reminders are scheduled locally by your phone; we are not involved in sending them and we do not know whether you act on them.

What we never collect

vivevo does not use Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, advertising SDKs, or any tracking or profiling technology. We do not collect your location, we do not build a profile of you, we do not use your entries to train anything, and we do not sell or share your data with anyone for advertising. There are no cookies in the app.

Anonymous error reports

So that we can find and fix crashes, vivevo can send anonymous technical error reports through Google Firebase Crashlytics. These contain the technical details of the failure, your device model, its operating system version and the app version.

You can turn this off at any time in Settings → Privacy. Turning it off also deletes any report still waiting on your device.

Subscriptions and promo codes

vivevo+ is billed by Google Play. Payment is handled entirely by Google — we never see your card details. We store only what is needed to know whether your subscription is active: which plan it came from, when it needs re-checking, and the purchase identifier Google gives us.

If you redeem a promo code, we permanently keep a small record that the code was redeemed by your account, containing the code and the date. This record is what stops a code being used more than once, so it is deliberately kept even after account deletion. It contains no other information about you.

Where your data is stored

Data for signed-in users is stored using Google Firebase — Cloud Firestore and Firebase Authentication. Google processes it on our behalf as our service provider. A copy is also cached on your device so the app works offline.

Data retention

Your data is kept for as long as your account exists. Backups may persist for a short period after deletion for operational reasons.

Deleting your data

You can delete your account and its data from inside the app, under Settings → Delete account. This removes your entries and your sign-in account, and clears the copy cached on your device. You can also request deletion by email — see our Data Deletion Policy. The promo redemption record described above is the only thing retained.

Your rights

You can access your data at any time in the app, export it as a CSV file, and delete it. If you are in the EU or UK, you also have the right to request a copy of your data, to have it corrected, and to object to how it is processed. Contact us at the address below.

Children

vivevo is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes to this policy

If we change what vivevo collects, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
